There are lots of useful websites for college and scholarship searching. One we have found handy is fastweb.com. There you enter all sorts of information and the site will constantly notify you and/or your student about scholarship opportunities that may apply to them. A recent e-mail from them has links to information about packing for college, decorating a dorm room, jam-packing your vehicle without compromising safety plus Moving Day Misery, Freshman Year Planner, and Budgeting for Expenses. I've received similar info from www.CollegeBoard.com. WV (and probably NV, too) provide Prep HQ accounts with associated e-mails to students and parents. WV provides an updated scholarship list throughout the school year. Some scholarships are available to students who are not yet in their senior year so it's worthwhile to have younger high-schoolers apply as applicable. We also have found several scholarships listed in local newspapers so you just have to be vigilant in watching for them.

Just received an email from the district regarding the AP exams and they recommended the collegeboard.com site to check about Spring AP exams. Just browsed it and there is a lot of information there about AP tests, ACT/SAT scores etc.

FINANCIAL AID/PAYING FOR COLLEGE I attended a parent night at NV last night and they had a guest speaker there from Hinsdale South high school. He has experience as a guidance counselor and college admissions director. He was promoting his website which is www.managingcollegecost.com. It has free webinars you can go to that explain the college financial aid process, strategies to establish affordable college options, scholarships, timelines, loan options etc. Holy cow, this is complicated!
