A lot of talk surrounding emails being sent out this election season. It is not new as this sort of stuff occurred during the last election. I find it pretty lame that people will look at 1 email and discredit a candidate over one of their supporters but people have all sorts of reasons for supporting candidates or not.
I have a friend from the north who received this particular email. That person was livid as there were outright lies in the email. My friend's response is included. That response was a reply all to try to undo the damage the lies in that email perpetuated.
Anyone who wants to stop this ridiculous harping at each other has to stand up to it. I know others responded in kind to this email and others out there.

Please take time to read this information about the upcoming school-board election.
After conducting some research it has come to my attention that there are four candidates on the school board ballot who are running as a "block" or together. These four individuals strongly support redrawing the boundaries that were set last year. If they are elected, they will have a majority. It is then we will begin to see a well-coordinated effort to change boundaries and whatever else they deem necessary to gain what they want.
I have spoken with other individuals and have heard at least one candidate speak. Based on this information I intend to support the candidates with the last names Piehl, DeSart, Rasmus and Rising. Please keep in mind the block of four are "rallying their troops" to turn out and vote. WE MUST DO THE SAME.
If anyone has friends in Brookdale please let them know what's going on as this will potentially effect them as well. I believe we all were optomistic this "battle" was over but it appears as though it's not. If you feel it is appropriate, please inform anyone you know who may be effected by this election.

While I actually support most of the same candidates as XXXX does and am not in favor of electing a slate of any kind to the 204 school board, this is incorrect information regarding the 4 candidates running as a slate. They do not support changing boundaries. Their website is www.204taxpayers.org. On their website under the issues tab, they clearly (and in bold text) state:
Issues
Each of the individual candidates of 204 Taxpayers for Excellence has their own thoughts and ideas for improving the school district. We do share some core beliefs in terms of what needs to be addressed by the district which are detailed below.
However, we also share a core belief that school boundaries are not currently an issue up for discussion.
We believe that the boundary decisions have already been made and to re-open those discussions would be to re-visit some groups' desires to pit subdivision against subdivision and neighbor against neighbor. We would like to move past this discussion and begin the healing process for our community by ensuring that all of our schools are of equal high quality and that every child in the district receives a quality education.
I believe 2 other candidates, Michael Crockett and Michael Strick HAVE spoken openly and publicly of either the possibility of boundary changes or to not open MV at all, but these 2 men are not part of the slate of 4.
It is important to educate ourselves about the candidates who are running as there is a majority of seats up for election on April 7th. I encourage you all to attend or watch the candidates' forum this evening:
The Naperville Area Homeowners Confederation will sponsor a forum from 7 to 9 p.m. March 11 at Naperville city hall, 400 S. Eagle St. For those that can't make it, this is going to be live on TV. The forum will feature questions posed to the candidates by the Homeowners Confederation as well as from the audience in attendance. This event will be broadcast live on WCNC (Channel 6 – WOW, Channel 10 –Comcast and Channel 99-AT&T).
In addition, there are 2 meet and greets scheduled at area schools where you can meet candidates in a smaller setting:
At the May Watts PTA event scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. March 16, community members can meet and ask questions of the candidates and gather campaign literature. An activity area also will be provided for children.
The Steck Elementary School PTA is playing host to a similar session from 7 to 8 p.m. March 19 at Steck, 460 Inverness Drive, Aurora.
