I can also confirm via a conversation with two separate people who spoke directly to Mark Rising about this very issue that Mark Rising did not meet with Mark Metzger. The blog from the "grannys" uses way too much "insider" type terminology to be real (IMHO). At least it was placed in the right area (Rumors, FUD, gossip). Seriously, though, how many grannies post in discussion forums? what a crock - the fiction like this that's been coming out recently seems to be aimed at the fab4's main competition, especially since the facts about the fab4's non-tranparent funding has been exposed there are some"posters" that really want to believe that this is going on out there. and it makes certain folks look like the villians they have been portrayed as.....

Strick has volunteered many hours in the district. Your post seems to indicate by putting him with Huang Y. and Wagner that he has no qualifications. He cares deeply for all in the district . Please refrain from the attacks on Strick and place your attacks on M2 he's the real bad guy with anger issues.

A Message from Bruce Rodman, SB Member 2003 - 2006 « Thread Started on Apr 2, 2009, 7:09pm » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A message from Bruce Rodman, Indian Prairie School District 204 Board of Education Member from 2003 to 2006. Anyone else think that it's odd for an ex-SB member (and one that resigned his position) to endorse candidates for the SB? Seems like most SB members, once they are gone are "out-of-site, out-of-mind" and/or "good-riddance" (I'm recalling that some people had some parting shots for Bruce as he resigned his position). No more odd than a "finalist" for an open SB seat appointment. ;)Everybody seems to be endorsing their candidates here in the last waning days before 4/7.

I think the whole blog post seems suspiscious. so, I have made some calls and have been told that the two men at this meeting were Mark Metzger and Mark Rising. Can anyone verify this? Perhaps someone who is helping Rising with his campaign can answer with a "yes" or "no"...did Mark Rising have a meeting at a restaurant with M2 and clear this up. Can't wait til Wednesday. I support Mark for SB. I am still on spring break (we are playing hookey for a few days this coming week) I am 5 hours behind chicago time. I got in contact with Mark Rising. No, he did not meet with M2 or have lunch with M2 or even speak with M2. Somehow I dont think M2 would be in the greatest mood to speak with any of the candidates with the exception of Sue and Cathy (one of the many reasons I did not vote for either of them ) All these rumors and FUD floating around....crazy stuff.

I'm not sure why it's odd for anyone who has done their research to let others know whom they've decided upon. I have written LTEs fairly consistently since I started paying attention to district issues, for several years now. My letter may have been published in the waning days, but as I said, I sent it on 3/22. I needed a little time after the forums to speak with and decide on candidates and it's been a fairly short election season. I am sure that former SB members are asked by community members whom they support, sometimes by those who want to put in less time and effort on researching candidates and trust that person. It makes sense for them to come up with a reply to send out. I know I am asked and I'm just a member of the community like the rest of you.

I wish my picks were a slate, it would have made supporting them easier and then I wouldn't need to choose which party to attend tomorrow ;D

There is only one slate warriormom and that would be the fab4. It may be amusing to you to toss that label around but I think it does a disservice to the candidates who chose to run individual campaigns on their own platforms and beliefs. Several of the candidates I support have been lumped as part of some unofficial slate. From everything I have read, those doing the lumping are those who support the fab4. Just my opinion.
