From a previous post FUD sands for Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt. It is a marketing technique used when a competitor launches a product that is both better than yours and costs less, i.e. your product is no longer competitive. Unable to respond with hard facts, scare-mongering is used via 'gossip channels' to cast a shadow of doubt over the competitors offerings and make people think twice before using it.In general it is used by companies with a large market share, and the overall message is 'Hey, it could be risky going down that road, stick with us and you are with the crowd. Our next soon-to-be-released version will be better than that anyway'.In the computer world, FUD was first practiced on a large scale by IBM in the 1970's. Many people cite Amdahl as coining the phrase when he left IBM to start his own company thus making himself a FUD target. That's all I know - from Google - can someone put more to it?

Too bad he didn't give any facts. Sure he did , he backhandedly said that those who have been supportive recently ( of AME-MWGEN) - support the district - whereas any of us who disagree with the site but have worked for this district in many capacities for 10 -20 years are obviously not supportive of the district. Not only members of NSFOC are against the AME-MWGEN site - the division is not that simple. I have a news flash - not every person who supports AME-MWGEN is supportive of the district as a whole, and not every person who does not support AME-MWGEN is non supportive of 204 as a whole. Might not be popular- but it is how I feel about the note. I would rather have seen him rail on nsfoc than base district support on the events of this site. Some of those against the site also care about children. I'll put this comment right next to the booster club pres explaining how the new boundaries will bring in more money... almost 20 years of support for this district all wiped away by a site selection...nice Me thinks you were reading waaaay tooo much into the letter, somewhat understandable given your situation. I do agree with your point on those who support AME are fully supportive of everything in the district. I fall within that category.
