From Submitted Reports Parent University is a day of workshops designed to share effective positive parenting strategies for the parents of children in preschool through high school. It is sponsored by Naperville School District 203, Indian Prairie School District 204 and the Collaborative Youth Team.
Parent University 2010 will take place Feb. 6 at Neuqua Valley High School. The cost is $30 per person for the full day (including lunch) or $20 per person for the half-day option.
In the morning, keynote speaker Gloria DeGaetano, CEO of The Parent Coaching Institute and an internationally acclaimed educator and author, will present "Parenting Well in a Media Age."
Full-day attendees also will be able to choose two workshops from 14 offerings presented by local child and adolescent development experts. During lunch, there will be an opportunity to chat informally with presenters and pick up information from a variety of community social service agencies.
