Dear Warrior Community,
I want to make you aware of a maintenance issue at Waubonsie Valley High School. On August 13, several patches of what appeared to be mold were discovered on the auditorium carpet. Our environmental consultant, Environ, was immediately contacted and confirmed that the patches were mold. Environ developed a plan for removing the carpet, which will happen before school starts next week. Installation of the new carpet should be completed within three to four weeks.
Environ is investigating the cause of the mold growth. We suspect the recent high heat and humidity caused condensation to form on the cooler ground floor surface. Environ believes the mold is confined to the auditorium, but to be certain, Environ is inspecting all ground floor rooms.
We want to assure you that we are committed to providing clean environmental conditions in our school and will provide you with updates on this project.

UPDATE:
Dear Warrior Community,
I wanted to provide you with a follow-up to the maintenance issue related to replacing the carpet in the auditorium after mold was discovered. As previously communicated, our environmental consultant, Environ, was inspecting the entire first floor of the school to make certain the mold was contained to the carpet in the auditorium. Environ has completed its testing, and has reported that all areas on the first floor appear to be free of macroscopic mold growth.
The new auditorium carpet is still on schedule to be installed in the next three to four weeks.
Thank you for your continued support.
