The district did a great job in 2010 of having the Fine Arts Festivals on two separate dates so that families would not have to be in two places at once. So what happens in year 2? All three schools have FAF scheduled for May 21!
I've heard that MVHS may change to May 14 due to MV's first prom having been scheduled on May 21 in conflict with the music department's schedule.
MV's Collage Concert was originally scheduled for the first night of WV's Prism Concert but has been changed to the night before.
In spring 2010 the WV and MV musicals were performed on the same days and times (except WV had one additional performance). It looks like that has been conflict has been corrected for this school year.
This Thursday Brooks and MVHS are having Curriculum Night on the same night. Since all of Brooks feeds to MVHS this makes no sense and causes a conflict for many families. The Brooks principal said it's not always possible to schedule around the high school so they at least try to take Granger into consideration.
I can't imagine the difficulty of scheduling for elementary schools that feed into two different middle schools (so some of those also have two different high schools to be concerned with as well)?
It seems like some believe this is the last year that FAF will be a conflict when due to split schools, it always will be for some families.

All three schools have FAF scheduled for May 21! wow, I thought the whole idea was permanently this would be over two weekends. That seemed to make perfect sense last yr. reschedule because of prom, fine. But fundamental reason to reschedule is because some split MS families who have HS students at another location same time. So Mr. Principal, exactly why is it "not possible" to schedule around one date on the calender? Fortunately, with the boundaries very few ES's have splits into two diff MSs. And I think the number of affected students is pretty small. The two I know of are: small part of Cowlishaw (apts on 75th st) split into Still. And part of Peterson (neighborhood surrounding Crone ) split as walkers in Crone. There may be more, I am not sure. the administrators need to wake up on this!

Per the school's online calenders. FAF at NV is May 14. ...at MV its May 14 ...at WV its May 21 This is a good schedule.
