Greetings Warriors,
You may have noticed a few cosmetic changes that have taken place around Waubonsie Valley. This past fall, we had some area vendors and parents generously add to the beautification of the exterior of our building.
In mid August, Classic Fence made it possible for us to have a split rail fence built at the southwest corner of our property. Our AP Environmental classes are using this area to return it to the natural habitat that is seen on the Illinois prairies. Their work has begun and they've already seen a great deal of progress with native species taking root and spreading nicely.
More recently, Magical Gardens (also known as Libra Brothers Landscaping) donated approximately $6,200 worth of trees, shrubs, and grasses to the property. The addition of this landscaping nicely caps our main entrances and the marquee. We look forward to the spring when these plants will be in full bloom.
You'll also notice the area around Door 16 (pool entrance) received some attention from our swim parents who provided seeding, plantings, and mulch. We appreciate their efforts.
In the spring of 2011, WV's E-force Club is working to host an Earth Day event structured around the beautifying the grounds of Waubonsie Valley. Please watch for more information regarding this as we begin the first few stages of bringing the community in to help with this event.
Have a great day and GO WARRIORS!!!
