Boys’ singing group Cloud Nine has signed on as an addition to the showcase, set this year for July 31 at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora. The performance culminates the annual Polynesian dance classes for children, teens and adults. Classes take place the last two weeks of July. In its 14th year, the nonprofit Pacificas Charities organization offers aid locally and to countries in the Pacific Rim. This year the organization is also offering tsunami aid to Japan. Slots for the dance classes are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to those who performed in last year’s showcase. Classes are taught by Rose Brandenburg of Aurora, who has performed professionally in the Philippines, Japan and the United States. Public admission to the luau is $10 in advance or $15 at the door. The class fee for girls is $125, which includes instruction, a Pacificas T-shirt and a DVD of the show. For boys, the cost is $50. Boys also receive T-shirts and can purchase show DVDs for $15.
