Apparently all of this speculation was merely that as the IPPC Prez clearly intends to bring this to a vote at the first meeting. I am very happy that she decided to go that route as opposed to just cancelling the event altogether.
That being said, if it was truly within the authority of the IPPC Executive Board to cancel this event, then I'm not certain that "demanding an explanation" as to why it was cancelled is appropriate. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the event and I was ecstatic about the additional $$$ for scholarships, but if the board deemed it appropriate to cancel the event and subsequently provided an adequate explanation (although not required, I think it would be a good idea due to the event's success last year), then I don't see a problem with the board exercising its authority in this manner.
One problem I see with this event is that success will wane quickly if done year after year. I'm personally not convinced that the "VIP's" who came out last year would have the same level of interest this year. Switching it from school to school will help, but I think they should consider doing an event of this type every 2 to 3 years instead of every year.

I guess only time will tell if it can be successful two years in a row, that is if they hold it this year. I am just glad there was a simple explanation for this.

Yes, I am glad to see they are going with a vote from the members instead of just deciding to cancel it.

"A few people had different agendas? Different motives? Leads me to wonder if it has anything to do with having it at NVHS this year and the anomousity that some people might still fee about leaving NVHS. I would think this would be something that would help the process, though. The game wasn't about one school vs. another or north vs. south. It was where the community came together. I just don't get it. Something else has to be at play here." "Again, sounds like there's a different agenda or different motives in play. " "IPPC is made up of the entire district. Perhaps some communities were able to "convince" this new board to change their tune. " " certain neighborhoods" Huh? not even going to touch that as it was very out of line. I just read through this thread. Let me state, I think the IPPC game was awesome last year and the IPPC should work towards a similar event that encourages unity within 204 while at the same time working towards raising funds directed for scholarships. I don't have an opinion on whether or not the scholarship funds should be the main reason for the game. I believe the game was created to bring district 204 together, not to raise money. There are other ways, easier avenues, to raise funds. For that reason, I find it laughable to read through this thread. Just my opinion. Seems that some on this board (see my quotes) are not interested in bringing the district together and continuously stir the pot unnecessarily. ETA: If you want "certain neighborhoods" to move on, maybe you should too!!

And with that, it is time to close this thread. If after the IPPC has its meeting and someone finds out what is happening, let us know.
This thread has reached its end.
