The Board of Education announced the first step in filling the vacancy created by Bruce Glawe's recent resignation.
Interested applicants must submit the following by 12:00 pm on August 25, 2008:
*Cover letter indicating interest and describing what a candidate brings to the position *Resume, including a summary of education-related experience *Applicant's address, phone, and email
Interested applicants need to send the above information to Janel Buchner at Indian Prairie School District 204, P.O. Box 3990, Naperville, IL 60567 or janel_buchner@ipsd.org.
After August 25, the board will review applications and discuss how to proceed with the interview process. The person selected will serve the remainder of Glawe's term, which expires in April 2009.
In order to qualify to be a school board member, a person must be a United States citizen, eighteen years of age or older, a resident of Illinois and of the district for at least one year, a registered voter, and neither a school trustee nor a school treasurer. Also, candidates must file an economic interest statement as required by the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act.
