Per a voice message from the WV principal (sorry, I wish I had the transcript): all 204 HSs will have random visits from drug-sniffing dogs. She said that the purpose is for the safety of the study body. She also said that this type of random police check is consistant with neighboring SDs.
If anyone else that got the message wants to correct me on any of this or add to it, please do.

I received the message too. She stated that the building admin would do a followup with the person in question, investigate, determine appropriate discipline, contact appropriate police personnel and contact the family.
She also stressed the importance of parents talking with their children about the need to maintain a safe and orderly school environment.

I'm not sure why this warranted a phone call. I think the new phone system is being used too much. E-mail is much less invasive. I'd like to be able to opt to get e-mail for non-urgent info while leaving the option of phone calls for those who prefer the calls. I have had more calls from Indian Prairie these past several weeks than in all of our years in the district added together.

I'm not involved in law enforcement, but wouldn't an alert of this type ensure that anybody holding drugs (or illegal snausages) would just remove them until after the dogs have visited?

I'm pretty sure this post didn't give anything away. By the time I heard and posted, the "action" was already happening, at least at NV.
