The Naperville Police Department is presenting "Internet Safety for Families" as part of Public Safety Month activities on October 22, from 7 to 8 pm at North Central College's Goldspohn Hall, 31 N. Loomis, Second Floor, Lecture Hall 20. Unlike other Internet safety programs, this presentation is for parents and students (4th through 7th grade). Participants will learn how to keep themselves and their children safe while in cyberspace. Children learn how to become tough targets so that they will not be open prey to Internet predators. The session will examine screen names; stress the importance of keeping personal information private; take a look at game sites and social sites, such as MySpace and Facebook; as well as examining the danger of chat rooms. No registration is required. For more information, contact Mary Browning, Naperville Police Department, 630-420-6731. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- School District 204 www.ipsd.org780 Shoreline Drive Aurora, IL 60504 USA
