FYI -- The park for the prairie preschool frontier campus is being built next to NV. The frontier location doesn't have room for a park on the property, so the kids will be cutting across the parking lot and walking to NV. That's the only location the district can place a park.

Last year, I had a daughter at the WV preschool program (run as part the high's school Child Education curriculum for jrs and srs.) So I am interested in the preschooler happens!

I thought this was a "branch" off d204's Prairie Children Preschool that is housed in the Crouse Education center. It's been awhile since I've thought about preschool. Was even surprised to drive by Frontier and see the sign. I am assuming that we are leasing more space for that due to demand for preschooler space in that great program? Does anyone know how long they have been running it from there?

The Frontier YMCA will not be using the space as a preschool anymore offered it to our district. By taking the space, our lease for Frontier campus is extended. The space is already set up for preschool so there are no costs associated with creating a preschool space. I thought that Wheatland was not going to be used as a preschool anymore but again, can't recall the details there.

This is the first year for this location. To go there, you have to be in the boundaries of an ES that feeds to NV IIRC.

I think you are right about Wheatland.

The frontier location houses two self-contained and four community/IEP mixed classes. I don't think you have to live in the NV/elementary area to attend. Although it makes sense to want to attend the location nearest your home. It's tough to get there, drop off and then make it home to get your elementary student to school on time. Wheatland and the Shoreline annex buildings are not being used anymore. The super picked this location. It's not private and its not part of the high school preschool programs that NV and WV run. If you're a community student you have to sign up and participate in the lottery. The students at the frontier site started there this fall. Overall, it's a great program. The frontier site has a great staff, but the logistics of the site in terms of gross motor room, playground, drop off and pick up are lacking. I preferred the Wheatland location. It just ran smoother.
