You guys are right. I wish they would have several locations for 1/2 day K. I do believe more parents would opt for that. Heck, I do not want my child on a bus for 30-40 minutes. He's a 5 year old. I have a feeling they have already decided the location of 1/2 day K. Why do they even ask for choice? This is such a hard decision. we4 if it is at Clow again next year, that would not be too bad for you would it?

If I drove him myself, I would have conflicts with other kids getting home from school. Anyone here anything about 1/2 day K for next year? We missed the K roundup at WE but my 1st grader brought the info home the other day. The school wants to registration forms by the end of April. I guess I need to figure out what to do.

.... We missed the K roundup at WE but my 1st grader brought the info home the other day. The school wants to registration forms by the end of April. I guess I need to figure out what to do. mostly the roundup was accumulating the requests of all the paperwork we have to get in for registration. I would say its significantly more than it was the last time I went through this....several years ago. Also, we have a time and date for an "assessment" where you bring your child in and they see where they are at with letters, numbers, and such. That is a new thing for our familiy...how long have they been doing that? The presentation (maybe you have copies of the power point slides? they gave them out) was a bit dry. But peppered with all kinds of anecectodal stories about "how spectacularly great ADK is'. As we all know...many many successful 204 students did just fine in half day K. But they had to go into first grade not knowing the lunch and playground routine yet!

My son's problem is social/emotional, academically he is ready.
