The Young Elementary PTA received the Outstanding Environmental Award for implementing an earth-friendly, fiscally-responsible, lunchroom recycling program. The May Watts PTA received the Outstanding Healthy Kidz Award for its innovative "Walk on Wednesdays" program for students. The Neuqua Valley PTSA received the Outstanding Legislative Award and the Sharon Voliva Legislation Partnership Award for efforts to develop a Social-Emotional Learning Resolution, which was unanimously adopted by the Illinois PTA during the convention. The Indian Prairie Parents Council captured the Outstanding Website Award and it was the only council in the state to receive the Illinois PTA Council Membership Award.

Our district is blessed with hard working volunteers at all levels within the PTA. I can only hope the Sun will assign a greater importance to stories like these and maybe add a graphic or two in the future.
