Our bus stop and school information seem to be correct for all four schools. It would sure be nice to be able to see the whole route though!
The WV, MV, Granger, and Brooks buses all stop at the same location.

The WV, MV, Granger, and Brooks buses all stop at the same location. Yeah, with all the new-fangled on-line technology with this system, it sure seems silly to not have the route displayed somewhere. At least they put the directions on which corner to stand at so you have some idea which direction the bus will come from. It's only a matter of the first day and the kids will know where they stop.

I put in my neighbor's address...subdivision right behind us and it showed that friend on the same bus and what time they were being picked up which was after ours, so my daughter was glad one of her friends would be on the same bus as hers. Last year they were together and it was the first stop....not sure when they will be this year. May have to stalk, I mean check some other neighbor addresses to see who will be on it.

Our neighborhood's bus routing is a mess. Many address have no pick-up/drop-off times listed and no bus number assigned to their stop. They also have kids walking unreasonably far to a bus stop when another stop is closer. I hope they fix these glitches quickly.

Parts of White Eagle are a mess also. Because of all the circles located in White Eagle, I think the program didn't take into account that there could be two intersections with the same name, ie, Fawn Lake Circle and White Eagle Drive, or Palmer Drive and White Eagle Drive and there are at least four other intersections that are like that. Some of the times and distances given do not make any sense. But oh well. Not sure why the district just doesn't show the entire route. They must really know what they are doing when it comes to busing

Has anyone seen changes to problem bus stops/schedules yet? I haven't but wondering if the district is working on them or just letting us figure them out for ourselves.

I know of someone who actually set up a meeting to go try to straighten out the bus routes/stops for a neighborhood but I haven't heard how it went.

According to the bus transportation website where you plug in your address, it says the route information is updated as of 8/18/09 so it might be worth a check again if you had problems.

Thanks for the heads up. I checked again last night and this morning. Still the same, but at least the map is showing our house and bus stop, but there are houses on our street that are shown in the wrong location(like 1/2 mile from where they should be) which I think is part of the problem. Also, there are still several address/streets in White Eagle that do not show any bus info at all. I still think, if the actual list of stops with times was shown (as in previous years), there would be alot less problems.

I agree, it makes no sense to give only bus stop information rather than assigned bus and bus route. Especially with so many streets in subdivisions as you wrote, that have more than one intersection with the same name. The first few days are always chaos with buses and this year will be even more so. Let's hope it all gets straightened out in a reasonable time period and that all kids get delivered safely to and from school without incident.

We are going to have parents at the stops just in question just in case. We have a parent who will drive the kids to school if the bus doesn't stop or even drive by. Most of us are within spitting distance to the stop anyway. So we will know in plenty of time to get the kids to school if there is a problem. I really feel bad for those families that have no information showing up when they put in their address.

Well, I have a feeling if you are at the wrong bus stop, you won't be denied onto the bus. The question is, are you at a real bus stop? You're right, they really should be publishing the whole route. If I was a family that didn't have a bus stop, I would plug in someone else's address and go to that stop with my paper that said I don't have a stop. Unbelievable.

I'm not sure we want kids getting into random cars driven by strangers. No worries there (at least for our situation). We have all chatted about what to do if the issue isn't resolved. The kids will know who could be driving them to school if the bus doesn't stop. But yes you are correct. We would never take a kid to school without the parents knowing.
