According to Still MS, the bus drivers have been told to drive around all the streets on the routes and pick up kids even if they are not at an official stop until all the bugs are worked out. They also said make sure there is a group standing together. Not sure if that means if there is only one student, they will not stop? Not sure. But it seems they will not leave kids behind.

Well, it should be a fun morning for all! Brooks has the added fun of having moved our meet & greet from a summer afternoon to the first morning of school, so several hundred parents will also be arriving for the beginning of the school day and the police have not given permission for us to park on the street in front of the school. How's that for chaos? We are also advised to send our kids to school however they will usually get there.

This is no different than any other year ... at least in my subdivision. The buses generally run late on the first day as they make sure no one is left behind, even if they are waiting in the wrong place.

I haven't talked to anyone who is planning to send their kids on the bus to school tomorrow at Brooks.

Brooks principal just sent the following: Bus routes are being updated today. Updates and changes should be complete by 3:00pm. I am sending out a Connect-Ed message at 3:00pm encouraging our families to review routes online. Most issues have been addressed, but we still have a few that will be addressed in upcoming days, and we will be tracking the status of our buses carefully so that we can share necessary information with the district transportation office. Please check the www.ipsd.org site after 3:00pm to find your child's most recent busing information.

District 204's transportation department is updating several bus routes and will have final bus route information online today at 2:30 pm. If your child rides district transportation, please verify your bus route information AFTER 2:30 pm today at busroute.ipsd.org/elinkrp/Students/BasicTransBoundarySearch.aspxPlease remember to have your child at the appointed stop five minutes prior to the stated pick up time. Complete transportation information is online at ipsdweb.ipsd.org/Subpage.aspx/TransportationIf you have a question about transportation, please contact Karla Zozulia, director of support services, at 204-Bus@ipsd.org.

Well, my bus info is unchanged and that's a good thing. I'm anxious to hear if anyone else's issues have been resolved with whatever changes they put in.

Still have houses located in the wrong part of the street (according the the map shown with the bus info) leading to actually being 0.24 miles from a bus stop instead of the shown 0.02 miles. Also, some friends still do not any bus info shown. Also a bunch of 6th graders and parents were at Still MS today and we asked the office about seeing a master bus schedule. The schools do not have the bus info (at least they did not at 10:30am) and this was confirmed by some teachers who were trying to figure out what buses their children were suppose to be on.

What a mess! I don't at all understand the thinking behind any of this. The district taking over the routes, the minimal info being given to families, the lack of corrections, the lack of ability to talk to a person about the problems found, the lack of information given to the schools. ARGH! I am wondering how all the kids will wind up on the correct buses going HOME from school the first day.

Here is an interesting twist. Apparently some of the kids in White Eagle are considered walkers. Not sure how they are going to cross Montgomery Rd at 7:30am. And if they walk down to Frontenac and Montgomery, they are well over 1.5 miles. Go figure.
Edit: I should add walkers to Still MS.

Don't you think this is still part of some of the unresolved issues there are with the bus schedules? Plenty of areas/houses have shown up as if they are walkers but then it turns out they are really getting buses. I don't believe anyone would be walking from WE to Still but I hope a bus will come by for them!

I hope they know where to stand for the bus stop since they are 6th graders. I sure they will get to school safely and on time, but..... It all part of this crazy idea to roll out a new bus schedule system with only 3 business days to fix the problems and it sounds like there are major problems. If the school district did this a month ago or even two weeks ago, I would hope there would not be families that didn't know if their child was being bused to school or not or where their bus stop is at 6:10pm the night before school starts.

No kidding. It's stressful enough for the kids on the first day.

Now we are getting somewhere. Still MS just sent out the bus times and stops. They are still a bit weird but at least we can see where they are going. The principal said to go to your nearest stop.
Thank you Ms. Cornish, Still Middle School Principal.

MVHS bus arrived exactly on time at our stop, and kept on going without picking up my waiting student!!
