Darlene Senger (R-Naperville) is launching a drive to gather Halloween costumes for students who attend Georgetown Elementary School in Aurora. Senger is asking for donations from the community for gently used or new Halloween costumes for elementary school students to be delivered to her office at 125 Water St., Naperville. The idea came when Senger delivered 50 backpacks with school supplies to Georgetown Elementary for students who needed them. Senger called on her local Walmart to make the donation after learning from Georgetown Principal Kim Stephens about the need for the backpacks. "While dropping off the backpacks, Principal Stephens was filling me in on some of the needs that exist at Georgetown," said Senger. "She mentioned that for their upcoming fall party, many of the students will not have Halloween costumes to wear. I remember what a fun and exciting time Halloween was for my children and I want the students at Georgetown to have the same experience. I have a whole basket full of Halloween costumes that my kids used to wear that I plan to donate. "This year, families are feeling a financial drain due to the terrible economy like never before," she continued. "I know there are so many generous groups and parents in our area that will be willing to make a small donation and I want my office to be a conduit for that."

Darlene-How about talking to ALL the school principals whose kids WONT HAVE A PARTY AT ALL ?!!
Honestly, I am surprised that GTn is having one based on the reason we were given for Gombert to have their party eliminated.
