» Name: Shenil Dodhia
» College/field of study: Yale University/computer science
» Honors/awards: National Merit Finalist, U.S. Presidential Scholar Semifinalist, AP Scholar with Distinction, Illinois State Scholar, and Indian Prairie Scholar.
» What are you doing after graduation?
This summer, I'll be relaxing and preparing for the fall semester at Yale.
» Why did you choose your major?
I've been programming as a hobby for a number of years. Also, I find computer science to be a blend of logical thinking and creative problem solving, which fascinates me.
» Did the economy affect your college or career choice?
No.
» What will you miss about high school?
I will miss the friends that I made here, and I will miss having the opportunity to run with my teammates every day in cross country and track.
» Most memorable moment at Waubonsie Valley?
My most memorable moment at Waubonsie was attending "Senior Sailabration," the overnight party at the school planned by parents exclusively for seniors. With all the decorations, food and activities, we truly felt like we were on a cruise ship.
» Any advice for next year's senior class?
I would advise next year's senior class to start early on college applications and to enjoy their last year with their classmates and teachers.
