Police officers and firefighters were sent at 7:26 p.m. Wednesday to the campus of Scullen Middle School, at 2815 Mistflower Lane in the Tall Grass area of the city's far southwest side, according to a Crime Stoppers release. Firefighters found and extinguished a blaze that had been set in a large garbage bin outside the school. Three teenagers were seen leaving the area and northbound on Mistflower Lane, the statement indicated. One was described as being heavyset, with a dark complexion and dark hair worn in a partial Mohawk style. The others were described as having lighter-colored hair, and wearing light-colored shorts and T-shirts and carrying skateboards. Witnesses to the arson or those who believe they have information about the case were asked to call Naperville Crime Stoppers at 630-420-6006. Callers can remain anonymous.
