I understand budget constraints but I think this is awful. This is a great program and well-attended by D204 students.

Dear Valued Camp Invention Family,
It saddens me to advise you that Indian Prairie School District 204 will not be able to host your local Camp Invention program this summer at McCarty Elementary School. Due to district budget challenges, they are unable to open up a host site for the full five days. They have agreed to open a site for four days, and we could modify the program as a four day program, however they now need to asses a substantial fee to us in order to utilize the space. We are a non-profit program, sponsored in part by the US Patent and Trademark Office. We are not in a position to absorb fees as substantial as Indian Prairie School District needs to asses, and therefore we will not be able to return.
This saddens me for many reasons…..this camp has been around for 17 years, blazing the trail of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Education long before there was such a national focus on the need for it! I have enjoyed the many families we have served and the great, local staff we have worked with over the years. And, finally, our kids need this program!
Neighboring school districts of Naperville 203 and Oswego 308 are hosting a site. Naperville 203 will have Camp Invention at an air conditioned Meadow Glens school the weeks of June 20th and June 27th. Oswego 308 will have Camp Invention at Wolf's Crossing(also air conditioned) in Aurora the week of June 20th. Please go to our website www.campinvention.org for further details regarding these two sites. We hope you will consider joining us at Meadow Glens or Wolf's Crossing. I've included the addresses of both schools below.
If you have any further questions regarding our programs, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks for your understanding.
Best regards,
