2010-2011 Tribune Scholar-Athlete Team
The Tribune caps each school year by recognizing a group of Chicago-area seniors who rise above the rest in the classroom and on the fields of play. Among the 20 members of the 2010-2011 Scholar-Athlete Team, there are state champions and valedictorians, students headed to Ivy League schools and athletes bound for Division I programs.
Each Scholar-Athlete must be either in the top 10 percent of his or her class or score a 30 on the ACT, be named all-conference in at least one sport and be nominated by his or her school. If students meet both academic criteria, class rank is listed. Some schools do not rank their students; in those cases, ACT scores are listed. Some class ranks are through seven semesters.
