Player, Thank you for the information. Quite thorough in such a short time frame. I have one question for you. Are you on the district's payroll? I knew that was coming! ;D Emphatically, no! I am a private citizen just like you, a parent, and have concerns about my kids future. I work in the private sector in the high-tech industry, but was a scientist in my younger wilder days. I have no connection with the district, school, SB, NSFOC, anti-NSFOC, whatever else. I am sure that will do nothing to change peoples minds that I am yet another mindless robot spewing out support for the SB, but as I have said before, at my age, I really dont give a crap of what people think of me. Cheers.

No worries. She's politely smiting Player as we post. Calling her out as a mole from the SB to which Player is emphatically denying.

They seem to deny there is anyone normal out there who could be on the opposing side of them. Can't dispute the info so commence on personal attacks. And the obvious question about where s/he lives. At least she is doing it nicely. I found it interesting that the big pipe exploded in Texas, yet the other two pipes did not. I'm not sure of their proximity to each other and how that corresponds with our situation here. I thought when one went, the others would go. Not necessarily?

I personally would like to be player's new bff. Not only do I appreciate the content of the posts from an information standpoint, but they are written in such a manner that discourages derision. I haven't seen anyone else bring the goods to shut the naysayers up so effectively.
Edit: for maclovin

It is great information to have. Even I was a little concerned about the pipes more than the EMF or soil but realized the chances of me getting in a fatal car accident were higher than an explosion. But it is nice to have some quantification to the matter. It really is a one-in-a-million thing which is why there is so much built on or near these pipes all over the country.

Player's information is truly to be admired. I felt there was little chance of the type of disaster happening that Arch kept referring to, but to see it summed up in actual numbers/statistics is even more comforting. Again, no pipeline is best, but since that doesn't seem to be in the cards, then I'm very comfortable with sending my kids to MVHS. Thank again to Player. Well done research!

Idiots? Slam fest? Was that really necessary?

You are correct, she didn't slam anyone on this board. However, I guess it would just be beneath me to call anyone on this board an "idiot" on the blue board. Your call Gatormom, you are the moderator. I'll respect that you think it was within the limitations set on this board.

For the record, I don't consider anyone that posts on this board an idiot despite the fact I may vehemently disagree with some of you.

Another post on the blue board from player.
Today at 3:13pm, cornholio wrote:How does the age of the pipelines affect this data?
cornholio: The best info I could find was that pipes installed before 1950 have 4 times the likelihood or corrosion damage than those after. One of the pipes under Eola was installed in 1951. In my opinion this is too close for comfort, I'd be much more comfortable changing them, like Arch suggested.

Player brings much to the table. Rather than repeated innuendo, he backs it up with fact. No spin!

I want to say it again, because yes it is worth repeating.....Players posts on this topic is a wonderful piece of work. And players other posts have been terrific too.
Hard data before our very eyes. But player also goes beyond just data and makes it fit with sensible illustrations. To mention one example, the risk of a drunken school bus driver.
Player really but a lot of time and thought into this. thank you!
