I just drove by the site and there are trucks and heavy equipment moving dirt around. It looks like they are grading where the roads will be first, but honestly, what do I know? The land really seems to incline toward the back near the rrs. Not as much action as I was anticipating.

Heck, not as much action as there was the week preceding the official 5/7 ground-breaking date as far as I can tell.

Sort of anti-climactic really.

Well, todays rain will bring work to a screeching halt for a few days. Yeah - bummer. They were out there on Saturday. I assume that's the "expedite" part. I was curious if they would be working Sundays, as well.

I guess it all depends on how much the SD is willing to spend to stay on schedule, Sundays are extremely expensive, double time for the workers.

Well, after all of the waiting, it's nice to finally see some concrete proof this is really happening. It should be fun for the kids to drive by and see as it progresses. Should bring a lot of excitement.

It is a beautiful sight, I must say. Nice Mother's Day present. Thanks for the pics Gatormom!!! Just read this on blue....thank god I am on the other side of the street. What happened to God's will? Posted by cambridgechaser: So, yesterday morning, Cambridge Chase residents woke up to a gigantic flood on the north side of the subdivision...right where all the trees and brush were cleared out. Fire trucks and city workers were called to the scene to help rake out the piles and piles of brush that were collecting on the intersection of Bennett and Burnett. I sincerely hope that none of the homes that are on that intersection had basement flooding, because there was easily 6-8 inches of water on our streets. The city had someone come out and dump a truckload of gravel to dam up the flood. All day Thursday and Friday, the grading machines were out on the property, basically creating a ramp for all the water to flow to the street. Nice, huh?

Hope everyone is OK. Those things happen during construction projects....probably would have happened if AME was building there too. The Construction firms have insurance to cover such events.
Blame it on nFUD.....remember they "won" by getting MWGEN to back out.....Had they not done that that area would have remained untouched, until AME was ready to build.

Why do I get the impression that somehow or another, it must be the district's fault?

Frontenace near Montgomery was flooded, too and there's no construction going on over here. It was just some very heavy rains. We're lucky we didn't get the awful winds that some suburbs got. People should count their blessings. Of course, I do hope none of those residents had any water damage.
