Anyone the needs to travel north on eola should avoid it for now - the light at Indian Trail and Eola is flashing red and northbound traffic is very backed up

Pretty bad. E/B I-88 off ramp backed up too, by idiot drivers blocking the intersections. Per my guy who got off at I-88...it was backed up south past Diehl Rd

Thanks for the update. My husband goes that way to work and I think he's decided to work from home today, or at least go in late. (Even later than it is now )

On June 4th, the Naperville plan commission agenda included a proposal from Moser for the property next to the future "star line" station on North Aurora and the EJ&J tracks. Moser wants to have the property rezoned (not residential). The site plan includes a road that winds through the property north to south connecting frontenac on the north to where commons meets on the south side of the RR tracks. I can't tell on the drawing if this road goes over or under the tracks. I hope so. Many of the Metea students who live south of the BN tracks would benefit from being able to use this road (if it goes under/over the tracks). Here is the link to the plan commision agenda. The site plan is on page 144... www.naperville.il.us/emplibrary/PC080604.pdf

Lot of people go west in North Aurora and then South on Eola. The backups on North Aurora can be crazy. This under/over pass would allow a lot of that traffic to go south without having to go all the way over to Eola. I guess they wouldn't be building this any time soon, though, huh? Well, I can still dream. My other (road improvement) dream is having North Aurora be widened to 4/5 lanes all the way from 59 to Eola. The biggest barrier is the 2-lane EJ&E underpass.

My concern would be that this becomes yet another stopped up drain from people trying to 'cut through' and probably will not be designed to function that way with enough capacity to handle it.

Yeah, I guess I can see that, but it's nice to have options. And the real problem is that the main road are stopped up drains, too.

I thought there was a plan for North Aurora Rd in that area? I remember a meeting about it a year or so ago.

Yeah, I guess I can see that, but it's nice to have options. And the real problem is that the main road are stopped up drains, too. They are clogged, yes, but they are designed for a larger volume flow. It's like River Rd versus Ogden. Ogden has more cars and 'look' horrible, but it can move more cars than single-lane River can that has to yield to the RR tracks and Ogden where they intersect. Now, throw in repainting, patching or other lane blockages on Ogden, and all bets are off ... much like Eola was a couple/few weeks ago where it was mostly 1 lane.. Ick.
