I thought I would post some information I received regarding scheduling for next year at Neuqua. If anyone else gets any information from the other two schools, feel free to post here.

Dear Neuqua Valley Students and Families: As both students and faculty prepare to finish the school year, I'd like to update you on the progress for next year's student schedules. Thank you for partnering with us while we streamline the enrollment process to make it more informative for families and equitable for students. At this time, our Master Schedule is complete. If there is a conflict in a student's schedule, his/her Guidance Counselor will contact the student to resolve any problems. A student who does not receive notification from the Guidance Office can assume he/she has received the courses requested. Our Guidance Office will focus their work in June on resolving conflicts in student schedules. This is crucial for a smooth start in August 2009. Students who are considering a change of mind request in the elective areas must see their Class House and complete a change of mind request form on or before the June 8th deadline. Previously, we published a June 5th deadline, but the last day of school has shifted to June 8th. Over the summer, we will accommodate change of mind requests if there is space available in courses. Incoming freshman students and families can submit a change of mind request to the Freshman Class House by calling 630-428-6406. After June 8th, the Guidance Offices will be open to process summer school needs and enroll students new to the district. There will be no change-of-mind requests after the June 8th deadline. During the week of August 3, 2009, the 2009-2010 student schedules will be mailed home. If an error is detected, please contact your student's Class House. As a reminder, level change requests were completed March 13th. Have a wonderful summer! Sincerely, Bob McBride Principal, Neuqua Valley High School 2360 95th Street Naperville, IL 60564 630-428-6010 bob_mcbride@ipsd.org

I read it a little differently asmo. Before June 8, you can request a change and it will be honored. After June 8, it will only be honored if there is space available in the courses. So yes, the deadline for changes is June 8, after that you might be able to get a change, maybe.

It does seem poorly worded

I read it as June 8th deadline is elective-only courses and then after that is "change of mind" courses-maybe that includes core?- and only if there is room. Hopefully we won't have to find out!

Dear Neuqua Valley Parents and Guardians:
As a follow up to an e-mail I sent you in June, I would like to remind you that District 204 high schools will mail home student schedules for the 2009-2010 school year on Monday, August 3. When you receive your student’s schedule, please look carefully for any errors. For example, if your student requested Geometry but received Algebra 2/Trig we need to know. Or if you student plays in an orchestra but has been assigned to a band, we would want to address this error before school starts. Otherwise, we would ask all students to follow the schedule they receive in August on their first day of school, Thursday, August 20.
At this time, we are in the final stages of preparing our master schedule for the opening of school. We have completed the level changes families requested before the March 13 deadline. Also, we are trying to accommodate the elective course changes families made before the June 8 deadline if space in classes allows for it. However, our main tasks at this time are: 1. Fixing any student schedules with conflicts or problems; 2. Changing schedules as a result of students completing summer school; 3. Balancing the size of classes so that students are in classes with reasonable class sizes; and 4. Enrolling students new to Neuqua Valley. In order complete these final tasks, we are not making new level change requests or accepting new requests for elective course changes.
Thank you for your patience with this process. Our goal is to have 4,412 students in the classes they requested on August 20. Please be aware that during the first 12 days of classes, we will be busy working with students to address changes and adjustments to schedules that need to be made.
Sincerely,
Bob McBride, Principal
