www.suburbanchicagonews.com/napervillesun/news/1805236,6_1_NA04_EDBRIEFS_S1-091004.article School to host blood drive Spring Brook Elementary School, 2700 Seiler Drive, Naperville, is co-hosting an annual blood drive with Heartland Blood Centers from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday. The drive is open to the public. There are openings in the late afternoon, and walk-ins are welcome. Giving blood is a true community service, and the blood stays in the area. Heartland Blood Centers serves 33 medical facilities, mostly in Illinois and some in western Indiana. It is the sole provider of blood products to Edward Hospital, Rush-Copley Medical Center and Central DuPage Hospital. By donating blood, a person can save up to three lives. Local businesses have teamed up with the school to help show appreciation to the donors. This year each donor will receive a gift certificate from one of them, including Casey's Foods, Dairy Queen, From My Room Consignment Shop and Keller Farmstand. Spring Brook Elementary is also running a costume drive through Oct. 18. The school will be collecting gently used costumes outside the school office door.
