I was just surfing the district website and ran across these classes. The district is sponsoring these classes throughout the fall. They range in topic from Study and Organization, Anger Management, Raising Responsible Teens and Understanding ADHD. Understanding the Basics of ADHD – What You Need to Know as Parents. ?
The Joys Of Parenting Seminars
Location: Waubonsie Valley HS - GOLD campus Date/Time: 12/2/2008 (7:00:00 PM) This seminar will review the main symptoms of ADD/ADHD, including the differences in how it presents in males and females. It will provide a broad overview of treatment options and discuss many helpful tips for parents to help manage this diagnosis in their teens, especially to help their teens succeed in school. Clinical intern, Sherry Broushous, will talk about her personal struggles with ADHD as a high school student and how coming to terms with her ADHD–related challenges has made a difference in her quality of life.
Our guest speakers for this seminar are Kari Wittmann Lata and Angie Michalak, Clinical Directors for NCO Youth and Family Services, Choices & Challenges ADHD Program.
