Staff members from all six District 204 middle schools are participating again this year in softball games for charity. This year's event is on Friday, October 24 at 4:15 pm at Frontier Park in Naperville.
Over the past several years, this event has raised more than $57,000 to support Hurricane Katrina victims. This year, District 204's middle schools are committed to helping organizations a bit closer to home. The needs of area residents continue to be prevalent and the donations to local food pantries cannot always keep up with demands. All proceeds from concession sales at the games will be donated to help two local organizations -- Loaves and Fishes and Hesed House. PTA organizers are in need of donations to sell at the event (bottled water or Gatorade packs, boxes of individual sized candy, chips/pretzels or granola bars). Donations can be dropped off at the Crouse Education Center, 780 Shoreline Drive, Aurora, between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm on Wednesday or Thursday this week. Any concession items remaining after the end of the games will be donated.
