I want to start a list of reasons that 204 residents have given that eola is a bad location for the school. As well as why their child should not attend. I will add to the list as we go along. please jump in with anything you have heard.
1. Pipelines 2. train tracks 3. commute is horrible for some 4. railroad deal 5. high tension power lines/brain cancer? 6. we voted yes, but for BB 7. We have a bridge! 8. 2012 class got screwed 9. contaminated soil 10. impending eola interchange 11. We can't afford it. 12. nobody lives there. 13. bus fuel costs 14. pending lawsuits
what else?

Nobody lives there. The center of the district is south of 75th.

I really don't see how anything positive can come of this - and most of these reasons have faded away

I cant' speak for steckdad, but I took it to be much like a Letterman "Top 10" list. In another thread, he states that the construction issue is just another issue to add to the list and that basically, some people will never be happy and they want to constantly complain. So this thread was started by steckdad.
That's how I interpretted it at least.

I know there is an Indian burial mound somewhere in those 84 acres.

I have to ask if this is comparing things to how life would have been if we got BB? Or compared to another site? Because the "Class of 2012" thing would have happened at any other site except maybe BB and the bridge thing is irrelevant because that area was probably going to be moved whether the site was BB or Macom or whatever. So those are not unique to Eola IMO.

Good point - and to be fair & comprehensive, there should be a list of what people didn't like about BB ETA - come to think of it - nFUD spent several months building a web site of fun & interesting reasons that the Eola-Molitor site was bad, so just go look at their site - no reason to replicate that awesome list here!

First off Brookdale got screwed and was made into a distant island, much like MW is now I am sorry to say. No difference between both situations. And the traffic around BB is miserable and much worse then at Eola. Finally the boundaries for BB didn't benefit WV as they would have been saddled with the majority of the Title 1 schools. I really don't think any of the sites considered were all that good for various reasons. It just depends on where you live I guess.

They will not be alone going to their HS from their MS, nor are they a land island as their neighbors at Cowlishaw will be coming to MV with them.
