Middle School student charged with sex assault www.suburbanchicagonews.com/beaconnews/news/1452346,2_1_AU27_STUDENT_S1.article February 27, 2009 By CHRISTINE S. MOYER and Rowena Vergara YORKVILLE -- Police arrested a Yorkville Middle School student this week in connection with the sexual assault of a female student earlier this school year, Yorkville police said. The 14-year-old boy was charged with criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse after he turned himself in on a warrant at 6:48 p.m. Wednesday, said Sgt. Barry Groesch, public information officer for the Yorkville Police Department. The boy is now wearing a tracking bracelet around his ankle, according to Groesch, and is awaiting a court date. The incident occurred Dec. 2, 2008, according to a press release issued by the Yorkville Police Department Thursday. Groesch said police could not comment on the incident while the investigation is ongoing. Police and school officials were not clear if the girl or her family notified police about the assault. They also were unclear Thursday evening about exactly what happened. Groesch said the assault occurred during school hours in the middle school building at 920 Prairie Crossing and involved more than touching, but he said there was no sexual intercourse. Yorkville School Superintendent Thomas Engler said the boy's parents pulled him out of school "some time ago." The school has not notified the parents of Yorkville Middle School students about the assault, according to School Board President Robert Brenart.

Interesting about the tracking bracelet. Very vague article. Is the boy just not in school now anywhere?
I wonder what would be happening here if the parent had not pulled this boy out. Obviously a different scenario because there was a voluntary removal.
