Hi – I recognize this e mail does not affect most of you, but I thought it was a way to gather some anecdotal data. Athletic Director Schweer and I are trying to determine the best way to support the Girls Gymnastic program at MVHS for the 2009-2011 school years. As we build the program, I need to assess the number of girls who are planning to participate. If you are a parent of a current 7th or 8th grade girl, or if you know of individuals who may not be a part of our list serve as of yet, who are planning to participate in Gymnastics at Metea Valley High School, please forward or reply to this e mail, so I can compile the information. Thank you and enjoy the week!

I don't have a child in gymnastics but I'm glad to hear this is being looked at since currently WV and NV both share facilities at NVHS.

I don't have a child in gymnastics but I'm glad to hear this is being looked at since currently WV and NV both share facilities at NVHS. I can guess why this question is being asked (they talked about this at one of the MV meetings): high schools can be combined into a single "team" for some sports. I forget the term, but gynmastics is an example of a sport where this is done, mostly because many schools can barely field a team by themselves. The reason they are looking ahead to current 7th and 8th graders is that to do this combined-HS team, you have to commit to doing it for 2 years. So, based on the responses, and the number of MV gymnasts projected out over the 09-10 and 10-11 seasons, they could end up joining with WV for those 2 years.
