Summer Activities Fair
March 21
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Indian Prairie School District 204 has teamed up with State Representative Darlene Senger and the Indian Prairie Parents Council (IPPC) to introduce a Student Summer Activities Fair to the community on Saturday, March 21 from 10 am to 1 pm at Still Middle School, 787 Meadowridge Drive, Aurora.
The Fair features 17 exhibitors representing a wide spectrum of athletic and academic summer programs. Organizations such as the Naperville Park District, North Central College, Naperville Public Library, the DuPage Children's Museum, and Wheatland Athletic Association will be on hand to share information about their summer programs.
"The Student Summer Activities Fair will provide families one-stop shopping for many of our area's summer programs. Students of all ages will have the opportunity to sign up for summer camp, park district or library programs, local sports teams, musical groups and more," Rep. Senger said.
In addition to summer camps, there will be information about state programs available for children like Rep. Senger's Summer Reading program. There will also be literature on hand that highlights volunteer opportunities for high school students looking to fulfill their graduation requirements.
"We are very excited to offer this event to the public as many families are unaware of all of the enriching activities available to help keep children active. This fair will bring all of those opportunities together under one roof," said Sharon Sugas, IPPC Vice President.
Learning to Live with Loss
March 23
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Neuqua Valley PTSA invites the community to attend a special presentation, "Creating a Safe Space: Learning to Live with Loss" on March 23, from 7 pm to 8:30 pm in the Forum Room at the Neuqua Valley Freshman Center, 3220 Cedar Glade Drive, Naperville.
With each breath we take, the losses we experience - death, divorce, job loss, declining health, old age, etc. - transform us. We can consciously decide what role we play in that transformation.
This presentation will help you gain a deeper understanding of grief and mourning. Learn how to recognize the gifts of denial. Discover ways to create a safe space where you can begin to heal and transition into the new life that awaits you.
