Now the results are in. Concrats to those who won and a sincere thanks to all who ran, you are all better than I.
I have a few requests of our new SB............and of those who ran.
There were some great ideas floated by many of the candidates....DiFusco had some excellent ones BTW.
SB Members....reach out to these folks and look into some of their ideas...........And those with the ideas, please share with the SB.
Thank you

I'm excited to see if Sue Rasmus can take what she knows about the green initiatives at Young and encourage their implementation district-wide. I'm sure there were bumps in the road that they worked out, so her experience with what works and what doesn't and what is worth pursuing should be very beneficial. There are probably a bunch of things we can do to benefit our kids' environment and also save some money.

I would also hope that Jerry takes his experience with the California schools and gets on the citizen's advisory board for the financials that I am told the district is already forming. He would be a great asset to the SB.
I think it would be great to see MR and Jerry back in two years for the next race. I know I voted for both and would do so again.

IMHO, we missed out on a great opportunity to have Jerry serve. Hopefully he will be on the Financial Advisory Committee, we need his experience.

More importantly, I hope the SB reaches out to Jerry and the entire community. There is an opportunity here, I hope they take it.

Amen, GM. We do have 2 new members on the board. I hope they take heart and do what they promised which is to bring respect and communication to this district. We are going to face some tough times in the future and our SB needs allies, not enemies. Any useful bodies should be welcomed.

www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=291278&src=76District 204 seats new board, selects new presidentBy Justin Kmitch | Daily Herald Staff 5/5/2009 Indian Prairie Unit District 204 seated two new board members and unanimously selected a new president and vice president. Curt Bradshaw, a four-year member of the board serving his first elected term, was named president. Three-year member Alka Tyle was elected as vice president. Former board member John Stephens served as board president since mid-February when long-standing board member and president Mark Metzger stepped down from the post. Bradshaw said he plans to lead the board as a team with the overall goal being consensus. "Really it's all a team effort," Bradshaw said. "My goal is to be part of this board while achieving at the highest level possible and I think we as a team need to determine what our priorities are and keep us focused on those priorities." Bradshaw said it was too early to decide the board's priorities given the fact that new members Dawn DeSart and Susan Rasmus were just seated Monday evening as well. "I'm not going to presume to say what the board's priorities are. As a team we need to sit down and have a conversation about how we best move forward as a board," he said. "Right now we need to embrace two new people and two new sets of ideas and determine how we come together as a group of seven people. That's the primary goal or philosophy." Upon graduating from Hill Middle School and Waubonsie Valley High School, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Illinois. Later, he graduated first in his class with an MBA in finance and strategic management from University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Very excited about Curt being president. I hope he takes the ball and runs with it. He seems to be an action man.

A new era has come. I truly believe in this new SB. With the right Superintendent (now that Dr D appears to be leaving) the healing will begin. In a few years the mess of recent will hopefully be largely forgotten. Incidently with all the concern about not having business experience on the SB I think CB will do just fine in that regard.

Couldn't be more pleased with Curt at the helm.
Now we just need Dr. D gone and MM to get in touch with who and why he serves and let go of his ego.
