www.suburbanchicagonews.com/napervillesun/news/1544119,Dillard-bill-would-disclose-salary_na042509.article Dillard bill would disclose salary info April 26, 2009 From Staff Reports School districts would be required to post salaries for certified administrators under legislation sponsored by state Sen. Kirk Dillard, R-Hinsdale, and approved by the Senate. Dillard says he got the idea for the bill from a Chicago Sun-Times article which revealed that only $200,000 of a school administrator's $400,000 salary was traceable by the public. Dillard said that S.B. 2270 applies only to certified administrators, and does not require the posting of teachers' salary reports since they do not receive perks like cars, annuities, life insurance and expense accounts. If signed into law, school districts would be required to compile the information and post it on the district Web sites, in addition to the collective bargaining agreements which are already required by law. The bill is awaiting consideration in the state House.
