"An increasing number of students have made College of DuPage their first choice. This represents an affirmation of the incredible value and quality of education at COD," said Michelle Miller-Searer, associate vice president for marketing and enrollment management. "It is apparent that this challenging economic climate provides even more incentive for students to pursue their studies close to home at a great value." Full-time enrollment has been rising at the college for the past several semesters. Comparative 10th-day enrollment increases include 2.1 percent in fall 2008 and 4.1 percent in spring 2009. The current 5.4 percent increase represents the largest upswing in full-time enrollment since 2003. Full-time equivalency is part of an equation used by the state to determine fund allocations. Currently, COD receives its funding through local taxes (48 percent), tuition and fees (39 percent), state contributions (10 percent), and other sources such as grants, investments and donations (3 percent).
