www.suburbanchicagonews.com/napervillesun/news/schools/1867703,6_5_NA06_CYSO_S1-091106.article Local students join Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras November 6, 2009 Reality and fantasy collide with brutal results in Stravinsky's masterpiece, "Petrouchka," to be performed by CYSO's Symphony Orchestra at North Central College's Wentz Hall at 3 p.m. Sunday. The concert also includes a performance of John Adams' cheerfully grooving "Chairman Dances: Foxtrot for Orchestra," which tells the story of a meeting between famous political puppeteers U.S. President Richard M. Nixon and Chinese Chairman Mao Zedong. Local students performing include: Naperville Central High School's Kevin Hu, Kelly Jozwiak and Liliane Wu; Naperville North High School's Zulin Hsue, Josephine Kane and Alex Laskey; Neuqua Valley High School's Daniel Price, Zachary Hammond, Katherine Kohler, Sophie Luo, Michael Resetar, Austin Richardson and Addison Xu; Waubonsie Valley High School's Eric Cheng, Parker Nelson and Godfrey Zhang; and Madison Junior High School's Silas Ferrao. Naperville is hometown to 17 of Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras' students. This concert will highlight two of CYSO's very talented young musicians from Naperville. Kevin Hu, violin, is a junior at Naperville Central High School and will perform Dimitri Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No. 1 in A Minor, op.77. Sophie Luo, piano, is a senior at Neuqua Valley High School and will perform Franz Liszt's Hungarian Fantasy. This concert is free and open to the public. Call CYSO at 312-939-2207, ext. 31.
