www.suntimes.com/news/education/2480628,CST-NWS-Grads09.article Pay down for grads July 9, 2010 The Class of 2010 college graduates have been offered less pay. The average starting salary offer dipped 1.3 percent from a year earlier, according to a survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers released Thursday. The average is $48,661, down from $49,307. The decline is "typical of what you would see in this type of economy" and isn't significantly different from last year, when the average slipped 1 percent, said association spokeswoman Andrea Koncz. But it's a big change from the end of fall 2008, when the average salary was up 7.6 percent to $49,224. Francine Knowles
