Greetings Warrior Community:
Aug 12th has arrived and with it, the start of fall sports' practice. Imagine a miniature Olympic Village with athletes swarming the grounds and bringing student life back into the building. It helps stir the wonderful memories of years past and builds the anticipation for another year. Welcome to the beginnings of the 2010-2011 school year. We'd like to inform the community of a few changes for the upcoming year.
Lunches:
We are proud to announce that our lunch sizes this year will allow for all students to eat within the cafeteria. We have plenty of space to comfortably seat all lunch hours and move students through lines in the proper amount of time. Option Area will still be available.
First Day:
Although schedules have been mailed home, another copy of your students schedule will be available in the following areas; Senior and Juniors...Fieldhouse, Sophomores...Gymnasium, Freshmen...Cafeteria. If your student brings their schedule, it is not necessary for them to get another from this location. They can simply visit their locker and then move along to class.
Gym Towels:
As part of austerity plans for the district, towel service for the district has been eliminated at all three of the districts high schools. Students should prepare to bring and maintain a towel for their use during the school year. These towels can be kept within the PE lockers.
Entrance/Visitors:
WV implemented a "raptor system" last school year. While this does pose the necessity for visitors to provide an ID for entrance, the practice is very successful in helping us know exactly who is on our campus and within the building specifically. We will continue this practice this school year. In following this practice, we also ask that all students carry their ID on them at all times. This ID is used for entrance to events, lunch purchases, book reservations, as well as other functions around the building. **Students will receive their ID for the year in their First Period class.
Raptor's V-soft visitor management and screening technology helps us protect children from sex offenders, domestic dispute offenders and other trespassers. V-soft works in conjunction with law enforcement to add an extra layer of security and keep our kids safe.
