Railroad exec to speak on EJ&E

A Canadian National Railway executive will meet with Naperville area businessmen this week on CN's proposed acquisition of the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railway.
Jim Foote, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Canadian National, will speak at a meeting of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce at 7:30 a.m. Friday at the Hilton Lisle/Naperville.
The EJ&E line would experience an increase in rail traffic if the CN deal is approved.
Several area communities have voiced opposition to the sale because of the possible highway traffic congestion created at at-grade crossings. Registration for the Friday program is $25 and may be made online at www.naper ville.net or by calling 630-355-4141, Ext. 0.
