yep, and I was the only one talking boundaries in it right ? and you added what to this thread ? also I was responding to a post where people are alluding to the fact those of us unhappy with our scenario want a perfect situation without compromise. I thought it someone put forth an statement each person had the right to comment on it -is that now how 'your ' board works ? Wasn't aware you made the rules. But hey, feel free to take another personal shot any time you want - amazing that is allowed. I don't like people who hijack every thread with the same rant. This is a forum for everyone to express their thoughts, not be crowded out by a few. Few times, OK - everyone has to get stuff off their chest. Everytime, that makes me upset, and I will get personal. Haven't you been reading what others on the board say about your behavior? I mean, I have never had a thread locked because I went on and on. Take a hint! Cheers.

Actually, I think I will count the occurences of the word "boundary" or variants and post a running total in addition. Then we can construct a correlation matrix of whether it has anything to do with the topic in the thread. Whoohooo! Cheers. let it not be said I didn't encourage your new 'hobby' boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary boundary

Take the time to read... sorry, not going to be bullied by the likes of you. and btw - it likely will be because you decide to try and make everything personal with the snide comments that this thread will be locked - there will go your perfect record. tsk tsk but even being as personal as you are trying, won't get me to say the wrong thing and get me banned- nice try though. cheerio !

Okay Player and Dr. Who, that is quite enough.
Back on topic, the JHB DS column.

I, on the other hand, do respect the moderators on this board, and will gladly stop as soon as they say so. Your track record for stopping when the moderators ask you to, is, oh well... let the record speak for itself. But, I thinkI will stop - I've made my point. Cheers. ETA: Last sentence added.

This is just plain sad to read. It has been such a long road from referendum to opening school, I didn't even realize that Metea would have opened this fall if the 2005 referendum had passed.

Which is one reason I got so involved. At one point it actually could have benefitted my kid; I also experienced the crowding firsthand and saw no other solution than a third HS. Once I started I had to see it through. I am so glad our SD will have three highschools (wherever). I think all the kids will benefit with a less crowded school and more opportunities for academics and sports.

I know I was frequenting the liquor store aisles while everything was in limbo. As much as I really do agree with Joni and it is time to move on, I will say that it is too bad this is a bittersweet victory. So many parents want what is "best" for their kids and are unwilling to budge an iota from their ideal scenario. Then there are the residents of this district (ie: Ashwood Park, Owen West, Gombert etc) who don't like their commutes and/or the splits and moved on a long time ago. Kudos to them. I certainly hope those who are having trouble accepting the fate that the new school has put them in will learn to look on the bright side for the sake of their children. No, you don't have to like it and sit down and shut up like you keep saying we are all saying to you. But I hope for the sake of your kids, you stop dwelling on this. This should be an exciting time for our district and many many many residents are happy that this is happening. I would hope everyone can try to make it a positive experience for the children. You hit the nail on the head WN3. It is very bittersweet but it is time to make it work.

Remember there was a time when even after 2005 failed - but 2006 passed - that 2008 fall was a chance to open.... it is very sad.

Here I was trying to lend some support to those that still feel hurt by the boundaries and then I read the comments about my posts after that. Losing sympathy fast.

I just wonder if our district will ever heal. Every step forward we attempt to make, we go back two steps. I see no progress. I have hope but it isn't with the adults. The children will heal our district.

The children will heal our district. I think I agree with you there. Children don't seem to hold the grudges adults do. Children can easily adapt. That's why I feel it is important to get these kids excited about the schools they are going to, not let them sit in limbo for a year wondering if someone is going to come in and change things for them.

The argument here seems to be the difference between getting past things and getting over things. Which comes first? I am personally past what has gone on but not fully over my frustrations. The further I get past the events the easier it is to get over. That being said, Joni's column did not help me do either.
