www.suburbanchicagonews.com/napervillesun/news/opinions/letters/1367239,6_4_NA08_LETTERS_S1.article Letters to the Editor /SunJanuary 8, 2009 Waubonsie doesn't need more students Here we are at the start of 2009 and the Indian Prairie School District 204 new high school, Metea, is finally becoming a reality. Construction is continuing at a ferocious pace to ensure an August 2009 opening. This high school that was so desperately needed to relieve the overcrowding is truly happening. Will it really relieve the overcrowding in 2009? I'm not so sure. By using the district's own 30-day enrollment numbers, it should be noted that for school year 2009-10 Waubonsie Valley High School will actually increase by a total of 513 students! Enrollment at the WV main campus is 2,782 today and it is expected to be 3,295 in 2009 due to the transfer of 500 NV students. That's 513 more kids that will need to fit into one single building as the freshman campus is expected to close and be converted back to a middle school. How in the world will Waubonsie be able to handle that influx of students? We were sold under the belief that Waubonsie was already busting at the seams and for some reason now it's OK to add more students to the school. I can't understand that logic. There are 240 Neuqua freshmen (class of 2012) who are expected to move to Waubonsie in 2009 to supposedly relieve overcrowding? They are leaving NV, but for what? A more crowded Waubonsie? Why should the whole Waubonsie community pay that kind of price? Five hundred more kids will simply not fit into Waubonsie. Keep the current class of 2012 at Neuqua. There is absolutely no reason to move these students as it will simply overcrowd Waubonsie even more in 2009. For the $150 million this high school will end up costing us, we all deserve better. Janet Eggenberger Naperville

Here is her previous LTE, same subject, some request. Janet Eggenberger is making her desires pretty well known. Overcrowd Neuqua for my child.
I cannot recall the exact number of students but I do believe WV was near 3600 before Neuqua opened. Thank goodness we won't have to deal with those numbers.
Got to give Janet credit though, unlike Paul White, she rewrites her LTEs so they sound original.

Reading between the lines Eggenberger will no doubt throw her hat in the ring in the SB elections. If elected her first order of business will be to change the boundries so Fry will be kept at NV. With JE it will all be about TG and d**n the rest of the district.

I can't imagine how keeping all of the 2012 class at NV is fair. That class will have a huge number of kids. How is that fair or better for them?

I can't imagine how keeping all of the 2012 class at NV is fair. That class will have a huge number of kids. How is that fair or better for them? Agreed. The kids moving out will have a much smaller class size and many more opportunities at WV than if they stayed at NV.

Enrollment at the WV main campus is 2,782 today and it is expected to be 3,295 in 2009 due to the transfer of 500 NV students. ..... We were sold under the belief that Waubonsie was already busting at the seams and for some reason now it's OK to add more students to the school. I can't understand that logic. ...... yes, we have been through this before. WV Main at 3200 is ok. IIRC it has a 100% capacity of 3700. Remember, WV Main has more square footage than NV Main because of the third floor. JE is barking up the wrong tree. Its what happens with NV capacity that is the driving factor. She needs to look at enrollments there, too!

Rest assured that with the exception of Michelle Davis all of the candidates from TG were NSFOC.

Half truths were what NSFOC was good at.

Agendas that won't benefit the entire district, but just pieces of it.

IIRC she was one of the main NSFOC'ers...right? " She was; her and Laura Thomson who ran for BGs seat. Rest assured that with the exception of Michelle Davis all of the candidates from TG were NSFOC."This statement is ridiculous, without merit and simply put not truthful. In fact, part of the statement could be considered as libelous. The poster (majoriananthrax) should provide proof linking all past and prospective candidates/applicants from TG to NSFOC if he/she has stated a connection that he/she "believes to exist". To assume someone has a connection based on where they live is outrageous.

And their past statements in the SB meetings speak for themselves. And libelous? Please! This is a discussion board. We have a right to question anyone who runs for the SB.
