You speak with such authority that the district is doing all it can do. Dr. Daeshener has acknowledged that he made a mistake in his handling. But in all your wisdom, they are doing all that they can? This argument that the mean taxpayers are responsible for Mark Metzger's pathetic actions is ridiculous. Suggest that he saves the district additional conflict and resign with dignity. Illinois does not need another Blago or Burris shining a light on poor leadership. May I remind you that there is an innocent child at the core of this issue? What if it were yours? I wonder how understanding you would be. To compare this to blago or burris is a joke Don't hide behind the "innocent child" thing - I think everyone would agree it's gotten much bigger than that. And as for "What if it were yours?" - it's hard to say without knowing all of the specifics (which we probably will never know), but my initial reaction and my current thoughts are that I would have moved my kid to another MS long ago. The comparison to Blago/Burris is appropriate because there is a loss of confidence in leadership and accountability. Open meetings? The child who was attacked should be penalized? His comfort in his school should have been sacrificed for the sake of his attackers? You seem to want others to take an unbiased approach, how unbiased is your perspective? Take your happy Mustang hat off before answering.

What name were you called? Well, if you want to see change, you should do more than call names on this board - BTW, aren't YOU looking forward to MV opening, since you live in the boundaries?

I make a point of identifying my biases and I don't let them blind my perspective when a child's well being is at stake. I am obligated to look at facts and isolate my feelings. Why the offense?

Okay enough of this. Asking WP to take his happy mustang hat off was disrespectful and we do ask that all posters treat others with respect.
You have your opinions and points as do others. State them yes but lets check the sarcasm and snarling at the door.

Yes please drdave. I understand your points, may not agree with them, but to you they're valid.
WP took exception to your "happy mustang hat". Let's all try to stay on point please....emotions are getting a bit out of hand, and when they do, people say and do stupid things........

Gosh Steckdad if I did not know any better I would say you know M2 quite well. I am sure he happy to know that no matter what he does you support him. All people need a friend like you. Keep up the good work. I have only lived in the district for a year(lived in EA school district prior)....sorry to disappoint. I don't think I would know him If I passed him on the street.

I don't believe "snake" is any comparison to the wonderful 2 letter word used to refer to a concerned parent of an alleged abused child compares. That is actually mild in comparison to comments flying around this weekend. However we have gotten off track to the matter at hand......MM's inexcusable action.

OK drdave.....I think we all get what M2 did was inexcusable.....we are all in agreement. Is there any point to your belaboring of it.
What more needs to be added that hasn't been already?

I didn't know there was a comparison to be made. You indicated that "I have enough self-control even when passionate about a position not to call hateful and vulgar names." So you don't think that calling somebody a "snake" is hateful? But let's get back to the topic of somebody who made a mistake and sent something over the internet that they didn't intend to. I'm sure you've got other non-hateful words you want to call MM.

I'm sure you've got other non-hateful words you want to call MM. whether he intended to send the info or not is irrelevant!!! The relevance is the fact that he refers to taxpayers in that way; especially given this families' circumstance. Lets not forget that he also sent it via school board email AND communicated it to all but one school board member which is probably in violation of some ethical code. I might be willing to cut him some slack if perhaps MM referred to a mother f*&^ng crane operator or a mf cement contractor at the MV site, but it was related to a sensative issue and said about the father of a VICTIM. That's inexcusable in my book.
