Neat. I feel like a kid in a candy store. That's some interesting stuff. Thanks!

Anyone wanting to get a last look at what's going on at the site had better get over there soon. They are putting up fencing today, and it looks as if it's ribboned chain link. It will soon be harder to get a good look at what's going on. I may have to take my step ladder next time I want to take some pictures.

I tried that. My lens is too short ... or the bridge is too far.

Good news, I think. I drove by the site this evening, and it appears that the ribbon fencing is only for the south side of the site where it abuts Cambridge Chase. They're only about halfway down Eola with the chain link, but here's hoping!

Man, was it busy when I drove by this afternoon. I don't know what they're digging, but it was pretty close to the walkway. My son thought the excavator bucket was going to swing into traffic.

Drove by the site last evening. The footprint of where the school is going seems to be taking shape. Do they not do basements on buildings such as these?

Do they not do basements on buildings such as these? you would think in a tornado risk area like ours they would, but I do not believe any of them do. ( actually I think some of the older ( a lot older) school buildings in the area may have ). Likely cost prohibitive. I know Benet has a lower level on the new Science addition but I have never heard safety issue brought up as a reason for it -

I grew up on the East Coast and am old enough to remember air raid drills during the cold war. We had to go down to the basement of the school building and line up. I hear that works will in cases of nuclear blasts. Keeps the Commies away.
