The petition asking for the complete resignation of Mark Metzger was started by Karl and Michelle Cordes. They are Springbrook and Gregory parents who by their own admission have never followed nor attended a school board meeting until recently. They have never had anything to do with the NSFOC. Perhaps you see signatures from former NSFOC folks because they too have seen the way MM has treated taxpayers in the past and this is truely the last straw. They are supporting their fellow taxpayers and parents who see MM's behavior as being unworthy to be a representative of the people. I suspected that there were folks from the NSFOC who were involved with the petition when I read this. You remember Crockett, school board candidate and ex-opening act for the NSFOC meetings? The email I recieved confirmed what I suspected, there is more than the horrible situation at Gregory motivating many people. I have to admit I noticed the same thing. Then I went to the petition and recognized lots of NSFOC folks that happened to be from a middle school that wasn't Gregory. Just an observation. I would have thought I'd see more folks from Gregory on this particular petition since they were personally impacted from this horrific incident and the backlash that has ensued.

Move? In this econony? You cannot be serious. So in addition to spending time in family counseling they should also quit their job and also take on a second mortgate (houses aren't selling overnight)? Amazing! I find it utterly ridiculous the length some on this green board go to in an effort to support MMs bad behavior. Let's place this all on the victim's family to resolve. Insanity! You expect a kid who was abused to also leave his friends and support group? Amazing. Sadly I have to agree that though the student should not have to move to another school, sometimes that is the best option available. I am not judging whether this is the case for the family at Gregory nor guessing how my family would handle such a situations. I know of a family whose child was victimized in some way at Granger (by other Granger students, I will not ask the details), and the family provided transportation to/from NV (8-9 miles each way) all four years so their child would be attending school with an entirely different group of students. It worked out well for them but I have to believe it was not an easy decision nor an easy path to take. This left the student away from all the friends they had made over 9 years of attending one elementary and then one middle school, but also away from the ones that caused the problems.
